Marlin Troutman grew up in Sunbury, Pennsylvania during WWII. Although he was too young to fight, his father and 2 brothers all served in the U.S. Navy. As a boy, Marlin had a strong love of aviation, trains, history and art; and that continued interest is reflected in his work today. Acknowledging his talent and love for art, he attended The Pennsylvania State University and studied under nationally known artists Elaine de Kooning, Robert Mallory, Yar Chomicky, and Hobson Pittman. He has a Masters Degree in painting from The Pennsylvania State University and taught art at Warrior Run High School for 38 years. He continues as an Artist today working in the mediums of oil, watercolor, pen and ink, and photography. Please inquire via e-mail concerning commisioned work or if you are a gallery wanting to purchase prints. With his wife, he remains active painting, renovating houses,
traveling, and participating in Civil War reenactments. Recent travels have taken them to
Russia, Finland, and throughout the United States. Current projects include landscape
paintings in the Central Pennsylvania area, architectural pen and ink drawings, and
establishing an artists co-op. |
